Builders Insurance Group Suspends Binding for Property and Inland Marine Coverage due to Hurricane Matthew

Binding authority for new business or for increases in coverage on existing business is suspended immediately when the National Hurricane Center (NHC) of the National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Watch, Tropical Storm Warning, Hurricane Watch, or Hurricane Warning for any state indicated when a storm is within area limits of 70 degrees West longitude and 15 degrees North latitude.

Current Binding Restrictions:
A property and inland marine binding restriction applies to any property located within a 150 mile radius of the coastline or land mass that is under a tropical storm or hurricane watch or warning. You can begin binding new coverage and increase limits on existing policies 48 hours after the watch or warning has been cancelled by the National Weather Service. This restriction applies to the following states:
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia
